Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
16.12.2004 - 20.12.2004
Honolulu is the capital in the U.S. state of Hawaii, one of the premier destinations in Hawaii's six islands. It offers a variety of activities that keep visitors occupied, from shopping to hiking to scuba diving to swimming with dolphins, etc. No matter what things you like to do, there is always something you enjoy to do in Oahu. I'm sure to say Honolulu is a place where no one will ever get bored. XD
I found that Ala Moana Center is a great place to spend the whole day! It has a reputation as one of the world's largest outdoor shopping plazas with more than two hundreds shops and restaurants. I like its beautiful open-air settings. Everywhere are filled with tropical trees, landscaping and ponds.
The Center is easy to access. It is just located on Ala Moana Boulevard between Piikoi Street and Atkinson Drive, few minutes from Waikiki.
Pearl Harbor is a place which most impressed me during the trip. It is a sad place to visit because it features the USS Arizona Memorial, dedicated in 1962 to commemorate the lives lost during World War II. On December 7, 1941, Japanese attacked on Pearl Harbor, and this event marked the entry of the Americans into World War II.
December 7 seems like a very special day to me. I think maybe this is the reason why I have developed a special feeling toward this place.
